In CI 2300, Teaching and Learning in the Digital age, I completed two web page based projects. My projects, "The Lorax's Lesson" and "Life as a Plant," each explored NC Essential Science Standards through hands on learning and online media. The Lorax's Lesson:
-Multidisciplinary lesson (science and visual arts)
-Uses Dr. Seuss' "The Lorax" to discuss ecosystems and anthropogenic factors affecting the environment.
-Evaluates media and its accompanying messages.
Life as a Plant:
-Includes a SmartBoard lesson.
-Offers an engaging video to serve as a lesson hook.
-Has mobile learning components.
-Makes use of the Storyline App.
-Develops student research skills.
